In a path-breaking move, NSEIT and the Insurance Institute of India (III) recently launched ‘Test In The Box’ (TBX) – India’s first tablet-based online examinations model for aspiring Insurance Agents to take Recruitment Certification Exams.
Announcing the launch in June 2018 at a glittering event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, TBX has been developed on behalf of the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and allows prospective Insurance Agents take IRDAI’s exam anytime, anywhere across the country, including remote locations in semi-urban and rural areas that are marred with poor IT infrastructure facilities and weak internet connectivity.
Mr. Nilesh Sathe, Member (Life) – IRDAI, who was the Chief Guest at the event launched TBX and lauded NSEIT for developing it as an innovative method of conducting online exams anytime, anywhere and asserted that this new model of online examinations would entice unemployed youth to consider the Insurance Agent profession as a strong career choice that would enhance the strength of the Agency’ force to 10% of India’s population.
Concluding his address, Mr. Sathe expressed his vision to implement TBX in 200+ Test Centres across the country in the next one year.
More than 50 delegates from leading insurance companies like Bajaj Alliance Insurance, Bharti Axa Life Insurance, LIC of India, etc. attended the TBX launch event and witnessed the exam being conducted firsthand.
Addressing the rapt audience, Dr. N Muralidaran – NSEIT’s MD & CEO said, “NSEIT has always been providing cutting-edge innovative solutions for secure and seamless exams. This Tab-based exam model is a path-breaking initiative of NSEIT to use tech innovation in enabling and reaching out to rural and semi-urban locations.”
Explaining the need to launch a versatile online examinations model like the TBX, Dr. Muralidaran said that the model was developed in close coordination with IRDAI and III considering the growing demand to introduce online exams in over 500 districts in India – especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities that struggle with slow implementation of IT infrastructure and intermittent internet connectivity. He added that NSEIT was chosen as the vendor of choice considering its undisputed experience and subject matter expertise in seamlessly and securely facilitating large online examinations across India.
